I left education and was eager to follow in my father’s footsteps by entering the financial services industry.
My first role as an Office Junior at Redcliffe Associates gave me the opportunity to see what life was like at one of the leading financial services companies of the time. Here, I made friends and business contacts, learnt the ropes and gained new skills.
Over the next 16 years, I worked hard to progress my career, moving up through the ranks. After qualifying as a Mortgage Advisor, I worked as an Assistant Branch Manager at Cheltenham and Gloucester, then became an independent Mortgage Advisor. I moved on to become Director of Principal Mortgages and ultimately became the director of my own financial firm — Watson & Company was born in 2014.
Fast forward to July 2021, when we finally completed on our new head office premises at Number 92, Whiteladies Road, Clifton, Bristol: the premises I started at in 1997. Coming full circle brought a tear to my eye – from Office Junior to company owner in the very same building.
I’m deeply proud of the company we’ve become, going from strength to strength and employing 9 fantastic members of staff.
